About
Today we are The BlackBerry Tribe
We´re a growing group of engineers, visual artists and interaction designers who eat, sleep, and breathe User Interfaces (UI). People that love their children, but are dying to get back to work after parental leave since no one next to them on the playground park benches cares about gestures, haptics and stereoscopic 3D.
In December of 2010, TAT was acquired by RIM - Research In Motion and TAT The Astonishing Tribe became Research In Motion TAT AB. We went from spreading our awesomeness to almost all phone manufacturers, operators and others around the world to focus exclusively on the user interfaces and apps for BlackBerry and Playbook. More than a year later we are excited about not only creating the User Interfaces but also owning them from the very first start of creating the vision to shipping the products out on the market and see our work in the hands of consumers. TAT was involved in almost a thousand UI projects with many of the world´s leading organizations, often working behind the scenes and you can still find our art and technology in almost half a billion devices.
We also continue to work in close-knit multi-skilled teams because we have found that this is the best way to quickly build beautiful, easy-to-use UIs based on solid technology. Our foundational idea of Design loves Technology is more valid than ever.
This year, 2012, we are celebrating 10 years. We are growing, looking for more talents as well as we are knocking down walls into new office spaces. TAT has been around ever since the first color screens came to mobile phones. We are continuing to make really cool stuff with great design and clever graphics rendering and we still believe that seeing is believing, stuff running on real phones, and we prototype all our work.
Careers
TAT recently agreed to become a part of Research in Motion (RIM), and now we want to welcome more talented co-workers to strengthen our office in Malmö.

Front-end Developer
In 2011, RIM TAT was excited to welcome JayCut to the tribe in Sweden. JayCut is still based in Stockholm and currently looking for a highly creative and talented Front-end Developer.
The next generation of media creation continues to be a priority for RIM. Therefore we are looking for people who want to shape this future with us from the JayCut/RIM TAT offices in Stockholm.
During the five years we created what became widely recognized as the world´s best tool and technology for online video editing we learned a few things. One such thing is that software development is closer to an art form than a task. It may sound corny but we therefore continue to seek developers that are more like artists, to join our small group of eight likeminded.
In practice we´re now looking for a single, strong, front-end developer. Mad skills, highly creative and a slightly wicked mindset will make you fit perfectly into the team. A strong background in more low-level languages, preferably C and/or C++, is highly premiered. Finally you understand that a great product becomes great through a passion for details, and you have a passion to get these details right.
Sounds interesting? Send an email to jobsinsweden@rim.com and tell us why!
About JayCut
In early 2006 the to-be founders of JayCut started asking themselves if web video couldn´t be about more than just consumption. We wanted to add creativity into to the equation. Nine months later, in December 2006, we had laid the foundation for what would come to be the world´s most advanced technology for online video editing. The company was founded early 2007.
JayCut was acquired by RIM in 2011 and is still based in Stockholm, Sweden. Prior to the acquisition JayCut.com had millions of minutes of edited video rendered per month. Companies that licensed the technology include some of the world´s leading brands. JayCut and its technology also received some of the most prestigious awards in the industry. But our firm belief is that we´ve still just scratched the surface of what web video can be.
Ask yourself what would happen if anyone could edit video, anywhere, with any mobile device, using any media on the web and finally publish the result to any device or website. This is what we spend our days thinking about, as a part of RIM.
We are JayCut. We build the next generation of video creation tools.
